In addition to quality, price and
timely delivery, other factors such as tariffs,
preference systems and quotas, currency fluctuations,
ethical sourcing concerns, globalization of production,
and US Customs enforcement efforts continue to
fundamentally alter the sourcing of products and,
particularly, textile and apparel goods by US buyers.
This presentation discusses the opportunities for
exporting under the Jordan-US FTA and the factors facing
textile and apparel exporters in detail, and contrasts
the impact of these issues both before and after the WTO
phase-out of quota scheduled for December 31, 2004.
